Playing it close to the vest until December
I decided to hop onto the Razor Entertainment Group site today to see if there were any updates. Low and behold, the body count of 2008 draftees has reached 22 with the signing of #4 pick Brian Matusz and four Yankees draftees Christopher Smith (#107), Brett Marshall (#200), D.J. Mitchell (#320), and Garrison Lassiter (#830).
As I stated in an earlier article, Razor has signed these players to exclusive 3-year contracts, but the conjecture by others in the industry is that this is only for autographed merchandise and does not include non-autographed cards, as players’ likenesses are property of the organization that signs them.
We will know a great deal more when Topps releases their Bowman Draft checklist. You can be assured that I will give you all the details ASAP.
