Now that the ‘08 Bowman Sterling Baseball has been out a couple of weeks, I figured it would be good to add the top catching prospect of the Seattle Mariners to the list. With Jeff Clement likely transferring his talent to the DH role and Rob Johnson likely being a part-time defensive catcher, the road is relatively clear for Adam Moore to develop into the M’s catcher of the future. Last season at AA West Tennessee, Moore hit .319 with 14 HR 71 RBI and 34 doubles. Following a season where he belted 22 HR and 102 RBI, it has become quite clear that Moore’s bat will play well at the big league level. His glove is another story. Moore had a decent fielding percentage of .990 but his 23 passed balls was a career high. In this hobby, Seattle Mariners cards have historically done pretty well. The M’s are definitely a team in a rebuilding mode, but under the capable tuteledge of new GM Jack Zdurencik, they shouldn’t be down for too long. Another good value can be found in Moore’s 2008 Donruss Elite Extra Auto #/844, which sells for $4.00-6.00.
