Yankees sinker balling rookie Ivan Nova twirled a marvelous eight inning gem against the mighty Cincinnati Reds lineup last night allowing just one run on four hits while striking out seven. Even more impressive is the fact that Nova did not issue a walk for the first time this season and his seven K’s were a career-high. Nova has now won his last three starts and has lowered his ERA to 4.13 on the season.
The recent success has breathed a little life back into the demand for his cards, primarily his 2010 Topps Chrome autographs. These cards reached an apex of $25-28 immediatly following his first career win, only to fall to the $8-10 range earlier this month. Last night’s win has breathed life into his cards a bit, bumping the most recent sales into the $11-14 range.
